SIx members of Orkney Quality Food & Drink attended the Royal Haighland Show 09 at Ingliston in Edinburgh. Exhibiting as an Orkney stand in the food hall the members enjoyed a busy four days as ticket sales reached record numbers of over 162000.

Orkney also enjoyed the lion's share of awards that were on offer.

Orkney Cheese – THE BEST CHEESE IN SCOTLAND!

• Bronze for Coloured Mature Cheddar
• Gold for White Mild Cheddar

Orkney Cheese’s Mild White Cheddar won BEST SCOTTISH EXHIBIT at the RHS09 which means it is classed as the best cheese in Scotland!!!

Islands Smokery

• Gold for Mild Smoked in Flavoured Cheese Section
• Silver for Dark Smoked in Flavoured Cheese Section

The flavoured cheese section means that Callum MacInnes was competing against any type of flavoured cheese for example stilton and farm house with cranberry etc.

Orkney Creamery

• Silver for Vanilla Ice Cream
• Silver for Vanilla Honey Comb Ice Cream
• Silver for Marmalade Cheesecake Ice Cream
• Silver for Rhubarb and Custard Ice Cream
• Bronze for Chocolate Ice Cream
